Goals of the Guidelines

These Tenstorrent Trademark Guidelines (“Guidelines”), which may be updated from time to time, outline the policy of Tenstorrent Holdings Inc. and its subsidiaries (“Tenstorrent”) for your use Tenstorrent’s trademarks, service marks, and logos, both registered and unregistered, identified in the list of Tenstorrent Marks below (collectively, the “Tenstorrent Marks”).

In these Guidelines, we are not trying to limit the lawful use of our trademarks, including their “fair use,” but rather describe for you what we consider the parameters of expected use to be. These Guidelines were designed to preserve the integrity and distinctiveness of the Tenstorrent Marks and help us protect our valuable trademark rights.

To ensure that your permitted use maintains the high quality and integrity that is associated with the Tenstorrent brand, Tenstorrent, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to terminate or modify your permission at any time. Tenstorrent also expressly reserves the right to object to any unauthorized use or misuse of the Tenstorrent Marks, including use that violates these Guidelines. Tenstorrent retains and reserves all rights to the Tenstorrent Marks and their use, including the sole right to modify these Guidelines, with immediate or later effect.

By using the Tenstorrent Marks, you agree that any goodwill associated with your use of the Tenstorrent Marks belongs to and inures solely to the benefit of Tenstorrent, that Tenstorrent is the sole owner of the Tenstorrent Marks, and that your use of the Tenstorrent Marks does not entitle you to, nor will you acquire any rights to, the Tenstorrent Marks. By using the Tenstorrent Marks, you further agree that you will not harm, misuse, or bring into disrepute any Tenstorrent Marks, or file for any trademark, trade name, social media, handle, or other designation comprised of or similar to the Tenstorrent Marks. You also agree not to interfere with Tenstorrent’s rights in the Tenstorrent Marks, including challenging Tenstorrent’s use, registration of, or application to register the Tenstorrent Marks alone or in combination with other words or elements anywhere in the world.

If you want to report misuse of any Tenstorrent Marks, please contact us at notice@tenstorrent.com.

No Permission to Use Tenstorrent Marks in Stylized Format (e.g., Tenstorrent Graphics or Logos)

These Guidelines do not give you any permission to use the Tenstorrent Marks in stylized format. To use the Tenstorrent Marks in stylized format, you must have a separate, express, and written consent/license from Tenstorrent.

If you have express written permission or license from Tenstorrent to use the Tenstorrent Marks in a stylized form, you may not change the colors of the Tenstorrent Marks unless the context requires the use of black-and-white graphics. You may not add additional elements, rearrange or remove elements of the Tenstorrent Marks, remove any notice symbols (e.g., ® or TM), or combine the Tenstorrent Marks with other logos. You may change the size of the Tenstorrent Marks in order to scale them, however, you may not change the proportions or distort the Tenstorrent Marks. You may not crop, modify, flip, or rotate the Tenstorrent Marks. You must maintain clear space around the Tenstorrent Marks that does not have text, distracting graphics, or other logos. Where applicable, link the Tenstorrent Marks to the relevant Tenstorrent website.

All creative works that include or reference Tenstorrent or the Tenstorrent Marks must be reviewed and fully approved by the Tenstorrent marketing team. Email logoreview@tenstorrent.com to submit your marketing for review. Once approved, all Tenstorrent Marks must conform to the Tenstorrent Logo Guidelines, which Tenstorrent will provide and may update from time to time.

Use of Tenstorrent Marks Which Are Not in Stylized Format

The overarching principle for these Guidelines is that whenever you use the Tenstorrent Marks, you must always do so in a way that does not mislead anyone, either directly or by omission, about exactly what they are getting and from whom. If your use seems to be permitted, but there is nevertheless the possibility that someone will misperceive what your relationship is to Tenstorrent, you cannot use the Tenstorrent Marks in that way. As examples, this means that, without separate permission from Tenstorrent, you cannot:

  • Use the Tenstorrent Marks in a way that expresses or implies sponsorship or endorsement by, or affiliation or a relationship with Tenstorrent when one does not exist.
  • Use the Tenstorrent Marks in a way that expresses or implies sponsorship or endorsement by, or affiliation or a relationship with Tenstorrent when one does not exist.
  • Use the Tenstorrent Marks to refer to your product or service as being certified by Tenstorrent unless you have explicit authorization from Tenstorrent to refer to the product or service as so certified.
  • Use Tenstorrent Marks on any merchandise, swag, or non-Tenstorrent promotional goods.
  • Use the Tenstorrent Mark on hardware, packaging or marketing materials of devices that are not Tenstorrent-compatible.
  • Use terminology that states or implies that Tenstorrent assumes any responsibility for the performance of your products or services.
  • Use or register, in whole or in part, the Tenstorrent Marks, or any similar, phonetic equivalent, foreign language equivalent, takeoff, or abbreviation as part of your own trademark, service mark, company name, trade name, product name, service name, social media handle, or domain name.
  • Use the Tenstorrent Marks in a disparaging or inappropriate manner or in any manner that violates any federal, state, or international law or regulation.
Imitate or copy Tenstorrent’s distinctive trade dress both on its code and its webpage in your own code or materials.

Below is some guidance on specific use cases:

Use of Tenstorrent Marks with Software: As allowed by the free and open source software licenses, you can distribute modified Tenstorrent source code, distribute executable code you have compiled, made, built, or rebuilt from original or modified Tenstorrent source code, and combine Tenstorrent software with other software (“Your Product”). Package titles for unsupported distribution may also re-use the word marks in the title provided you do not make anything more than minor changes. However, you must remove all Tenstorrent Marks from Your Product, give Your Product its own name that is not similar to any Tenstorrent Marks, and use the Tenstorrent Marks only in text to truthfully describe Your Product and its relationship to a Tenstorrent product, such as the fact that the code you are distributing is a modification of Tenstorrent software. This is because if people are misled into believing they are getting the same software that Tenstorrent provides, they will be confused when they are not getting the same features and functionality, customer support, or quality assurance they expect from Tenstorrent.

  • Examples of proper references to Tenstorrent products:
    • “Our [your brand] software is built from modified source code derived from TT-MetaliumTM.”
    • “VLLM enabled for TT-WormholeTM”
  • Examples of improper references to Tenstorrent products:
    • “New TT-MetaliumT!”
    • “TT-MetaliumTM V2”

Use of Tenstorrent Marks to Describe Interoperability: You can use the Tenstorrent Marks to truthfully describe compatibility or interoperability between your technology and Tenstorrent’s. The Tenstorrent Marks must be used after a verb or preposition that describes the relationship between your technology and Tenstorrent’s. Your own brand name should always be much more prominent than any Tenstorrent Marks. You may say, for example, “[Your brand] software for the Tenstorrent® MetalTM operating system” but you may not say "Bob's Tenstorrent® Linux software.”

  • Some other examples that may work for you are:
    • “Our [your brand] software runs on Tenstorrent GalaxyTM servers”
    • “Our [your brand] software can be deployed on the Tenstorrent® WormholeTM card”
    • “Our [your brand] software is built using the TT-MetaliumTM platform”

Use of Tenstorrent Marks If You Offer Training: You may use Tenstorrent Marks in connection with your own training courses as long as you:

  • Use the Tenstorrent Marks referentially and not as the leading word or most prominent element in your course title. For example, “John’s training course for TT-MetaliumTM” is acceptable while “Tenstorrent training by John” is not acceptable;
  • Make your name or company name more prominent than the Tenstorrent Marks on all training materials and training-related marketing;
  • Include the following disclaimer on all webpages, course material, and marketing collateral on which the Tenstorrent Marks appear:
    • “(Name/Company Name) has no affiliation with Tenstorrent®. The (list of used trademarks) trademarks are used for identification purposes only and are not intended to indicate affiliation with or approval by Tenstorrent.”; and
  • Do not use any Tenstorrent stylized marks (e.g., Tenstorrent graphics or logos).

Use of Tenstorrent Marks for User Groups: You may use the Tenstorrent Marks part of your user group name provided that:

  • The main focus of the group is Tenstorrent software or Tenstorrent hardware; and
  • It is clear that the group is not affiliated with or endorsed by Tenstorrent; and
  • You do not use any Tenstorrent stylized marks, graphics, or logos.

Use of Tenstorrent Marks with Websites and Marketing Collateral:

  • Without further permissions from Tenstorrent, you may not:
    • Use Tenstorrent Marks on your website in a way that suggests that your website is an official Tenstorrent website or that Tenstorrent endorses your website; or
    • Use Tenstorrent Marks as or as part of a domain name, subdomain, social media handle, channel, page, or the like; or
    • Use Tenstorrent Marks in marketing materials in a way that suggests that they are Tenstorrent’s own materials or that Tenstorrent endorses your products or services.

Your own brand must be much more prominently featured than any Tenstorrent Marks. This means that the Tenstorrent Marks should not be used in page titles or headers, only in the text of the website to truthfully describe Tenstorrent’s products and services.

Proper Use of a Mark

  • Always use a trademark as an adjective modifying a noun. Don't use a trademark as a verb. Don't use “a” or "the" to refer to an instance of the trademark. For example:
    • Correct: “the Tenstorrent GalaxyTM server” or “the TT-MetaliumTM software”
    • Incorrect: “Metall-ize” or “the Wormhole”
  • Don’t pluralize a trademark. Don't use a trademark as a possessive. For example:
    • Correct: “the benefits of Wormhole™ technology” or “Wormhole™ technology’s benefits”
    • Incorrect: “Wormhole’s benefits” and “Galaxy’s benefits”
  • Always use trademarks in their exact form with the correct spelling and never abbreviate, hyphenate, or combine trademarks with any other words or designs.
  • Always distinguish trademarks from the surrounding text, either by capitalizing, bolding, italicizing, or underlining the trademark.
  • Don’t create acronyms using the Tenstorrent Marks.
  • Don’t alter, modify, abbreviate, or make variations of the Tenstorrent Marks.
  • Put the following notice in the footer of the page where you have used any Tenstorrent Marks (or, if in a book, on the credits page), on any packaging or labeling, and on advertising or marketing materials: ”[List of marks] is/are [a] trademark[s] of Tenstorrent®.”
  • The first or most prominent mention of the Tenstorrent Marks must be accompanied by a symbol indicating the Tenstorrent Marks are registered (“®”) or unregistered (“TM”) in superscript. Note that the ® symbol is only for trademarks and service marks that are registered with a governmental authority in the country where the mark will be used (e.g., the United States Patent and Trademark Office). Misuse of the registration symbol with a mark that is not registered may result in certain penalties.
